Last week a close friend who also does SW told me about the ‘Maggi so juicy’ sachets. They come in a variety of cooking methods; tray bake, all in one pan, papyrus leaves and bake in a bag. They range from 4.5 syns per packet to 8.5 syns... but depending on how many you feed this is still VERY reasonable for a dinner!!
Sainsburys and Tesco both have these sachets on for 50p each at the moment so I picked up a few to try. Earlier on in the week I did the paprika chicken. It was SOOOO easy!!! I took the skin off of 8 chicken drumsticks and put them in the bag that it provided in the sachet. Threw in the seasoning mix, shook it up, tied off the bag and whacked it in the oven. 40 mins later, with some cous cous and asparagus added – a FABULOUS dinner!!
I LOVE slimming world for the fact you can have ‘normal’ food, however I do find that alot of the recipes take quite a bit of prep. These Maggi sachets take out that need for prep and for a few measly syns they offer a super tasty, REALLY EASY meal.
Last night I tried another flavour – this time the red wine and shallots for beef. I used ASDA frozen casserole beef that I thawed and removed the fat from. Again I found it SUPER easy! Meat in the bag, seasoning mixed with 150ml of water and a tin of chopped tomatoes and poured over the meat. Roughly chopped onion thown in mix and tie up the bag. 1.5 hours later.... OMG – it was LUSH!!!!! And all for 3 syns!!! I served it up with a jacket potato, broccoli, cauliflower and baby sweetcorn. YUM! Will DEFFO be doing this one again!
