Well.... It's been a while!!

Do you remember me saying, back at the end of July, that project pregnant was continuing for another month?? I guess I shouldn't have spoken so soon!!!

I found out on August 1st that I was expecting!! I am currently 15 weeks pregnant!! It's so exciting!!

I've gotta say though, it's been tough!! With the prolapsed disc and the sciatica I have pretty much been in pain for the whole first trimester... With the only pain relief that I can take being paracetamol and codeine.

I am looking forward to the 2nd trimester where I can have acupuncture, massage, manipulation and Aquanatal sessions. Bring it on!!!

Food wise....it's not been great. Been craving breaded chicken. And lots of it!!
We've been on holiday (10 days in Egypt) where I ate whatever I wanted - came back and had lost 1lb!! Result!! I do really need to get back on the wagon properly though - apparently it's quite normal in pregnancy to be gaining about 1lb a week from now on!! That's 25lb!!!!! Hoping with slimming world I can greatly reduce that number if not just maintain what I am at the moment.

I have decided to stop going to meetings until after the birth, I just can't justify the money at the moment - not when that cash could be spent on yoga or Aqua natal classes. So I will be following from home. Still weighing myself once a week and recording it so I can keep track of what I'm gaining.

Best laid plans...

Just as I had found my focus and got into the swing with boot camp.... I slip my disc again. Well, I think it's herniated again.

I'm. In. Agony.

So I had a week where I couldn't move, and missed SW. This week movement has improved but I've now got sciatica in my left leg right down to the ankle. No position is comfy and I'm not sleeping. It sucks. I went to SW expecting a 7lb gain (according to my scales) and only put on 4!! It's a biggish gain but nearly half of what I was expecting.

I really need to focus. Food wise, I'm writing everything down this week. Possibly posting a daily food diary, we'll see. Boot camp is on the back burner now (will be the end of the 6 week round soon anyway) but I need to introduce a more gentle exercise, perfect time to get back into swimming. I'm also looking into joining a yoga or Pilates class. *sigh* when my backs like this it really makes loosing weight tough.

Anyone got a new back for sale? Lol.

Boot Camp session 4

Training was hard yesterday, outside again and involved ALOT of running. Groups of 4, kind of like a relay, you had to sprint, then rest, then jog on the spot, then do an exercise. I bloody HATE running. My shins felt like they were going to shatter.

Anyway – I did it and that’s what matters. Feeling less aches and pains after them now – hopefully that means my body is getting stronger. Not noticed any change in clothes fitting differently but it’s still early days.

Food wise this week was ooooooookay.... the bbq became a lot less SW friendly than I had originally planned.... you can’t have a burger without a bun and a slice of processed plastic cheese!!! And I had 2 of those!! The chicken and pork was syn free though. The chorizo wasn’t. I enjoyed it though and went back on plan relatively quickly.

We caved and had a KFC on Sunday night. Was disappointed with myself – I enjoyed it while I was eating it but the day after when my tummy was playing up and I felt fat and bloated – I regretted every mouthful.

THIS week, I am going to stay on plan every day. Since starting boot camp I have felt like I could cheat a little coz the exercise would help balance out the naughties. So I want to see what exercise AND a week on plan can do.

I haven’t weighed in yet – that’s later, and I’m worried the workouts won’t have outweighed the takeouts this week. REALLY want a loss. I will update the post at the end after weigh in later.

I have been thinking a lot about aims and long term plans recently and have come to terms with the fact I find it hard to focus on goals over long periods of time. So....with Project Pregnant continuing for another month (booooooo) I have decided to aim to lose as much as possible in the next 4 weeks, and for the time being, continue with boot camp and introduce 1 swim a week. (Though I need to buy a new cossie as my old one has gone see thru on the bum!!!!) It’s a short term goal that can keep being renewed each month.  I am feeling focused and willing to commit to my weight loss. Bring it on!

Suprised!

I was expecting a gain on Thursday coz if all the exercise I've been doing. Stepped on the scale and I lost 1lb!! Happy with that!!!

Boot camp session 3.... It was POURING with rain, honestly I would have rather stayed on the sofa and snuggled in the warm. But that won't help with project pregnant will it!! I donned my gym gear and made my way to boot camp.

I got there and thank god we were training inside. the group was about half the size of what it was on Wednesday, seems a lot of the others picked snuggling in the warm! Lol.

OMFG. It was hard. My muscles were screaming!! And the room got sooooooo hot!! I did it though, pushed through and when i wanted to stop I tried to do one more of what I was doing. I'm aching today but it's a satisfying ache.

Me and hubby are having a BBQ today. I've prepped the crudités and salad, made the SW friendly coleslaw. Might try the SW pimms too. Can't wait!!!

Fingers crossed for another loss next week!!

Boot Camp session 2 - 1st workout!

Oh. My. God.

Now, I have done a boot camp before so I knew what I was getting myself into... But jeeeeeeeez. I hurt!!

If I'm honest, I was 50-50 whether to continue or not. The session is 8-9pm so super late really... I don't want my dinner at 6 so I end up having to eat after. It also means I'm just hanging around all evening waiting to go. I was ready to pack it in. But then I thought about why I'm doing it.... Hauled my fat ass upstairs and got ready to go. And I'm glad I did!! It was knackering but fun!!

And slimming world wise...I came home famished but instead of loading the toaster up and reaching for the peanut butter (my god I wanted hot peanut buttery toast) I had my hubby prepare me overnight oats just before I went out. Am really proud that I managed to keep my  food plan too!

Though I think I will have put weight on this week... I hope I haven't but with the sudden hard core excersie I wouldn't be surprised if I have. Oh well, looking forward to Friday's session.... I'm gonna hurt in the morning though!!!

Bootcamp session 1 - fitness test

Omg – I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE!!!!

Had my fitness test at the bootcamp on Friday.... we had to do a 1km walk/jog/run, 60 secs push ups and 60 secs push ups. I had 1 aim – to make the 1km without stopping and to do at least 15 reps of the push ups and sit ups.

I did the 1 km as a jog/walk and managed it in 10 mins 02 seconds, I did 25 push ups and 23 sit ups.

My body feels like it has been beaten with a baseball bat – I have aches and pains in places I didn’t even think could hurt! Who knew there were muscles in your armpits!!! LOL

Anyway, we don’t have to do the run again until the end of the 6 weeks – the classes are now just bootcamp sessions. I’m looking forward to them!! Although – my scales are saying I have put about 4lb on... I think this may be due to the exersice, hopefully it will even itself out and I’ll start loosing again.

We went to a wedding at the weekend so not SW friendly but im back on plan now so fingers crossed for at least a maintain on Thursday.

3 months later...

I'm back!!! As you can see I've not lost anything in the 12ish weeks I've been MIA!! Inputting this on the SW website graph kinda made me realise just how much time I'm wasting. I've refocused and even joined up to a 6 week boot camp!!!

Went for registration 2night and do a fitness test on Friday. Dreading it... It's a 1km run. I'm gonna die!!! But then in 6 weeks (after doing fit camp 2 times a week) we do it again to see the improvement.

Still doing batch freezer meals - got a few new recipes that I'll share at some point.  But for now - I'm off to bed!x
